6 weeks pregnant
By now it is ready and obvious to you: you are pregnant. Your hormones are going completely haywire and your pregnancy symptoms are getting worse and worse.
your baby,
the face and the heartbeat 💗
It may be hard to imagine, but as early as week 6 of your pregnancy, your baby's face begins to take shape. In this week your little one's eyes, ears, jaws and nose are already developing. Moreover, you reach a wonderful milestone: your baby's heart begins to beat! You can now hear the heartbeat during an ultrasound 😍.
Your baby's body continues to develop; what was just a straight stalk last week is now shaped like a curved C with a curly tail. Small nodules can already be seen where the arms and legs will form. Within a few days, even the outlines of the hands will become visible.

mom,
6 weeks pregnant
While the world may not yet know you're pregnant, you're already experiencing the full impact. Hormones are racing and the first symptoms, such as morning sickness, frequent urination and moodswings, may appear. Remember, this is all for a good cause: your baby.
Sometimes blood loss may occur, but this need not be an immediate cause for concern. Increased blood flow to the cervix during pregnancy can lead to contact bleeding, such as after sex. Another cause may be the implantation of the foetus.
However, blood loss can also indicate pregnancy loss, especially if accompanied by severe abdominal pain. Do you suspect this? If so, contact your obstetrician. Unfortunately, miscarriage occurs in 1 in 9 pregnancies and cannot be prevented.
